TPE Compounded Into Submission

PlasTastic requires prep before it can be processed for the making of products. The TPE is first compounded by mixing the wet and dry ingredients together, along with the desired color pigments. This forms a slurry that resembles oatmeal. 

The TPE slurry is poured into 5-gallon pails that are moved to our own lab for processing, or securely shipped to other labs around the world.

In order to cast and mold the raw material into products, the slurry must be heated and mixed. At temperatures exceeding 300* F the compound liquefies and can be poured into casts for molding for ease of high volume applications, PlasTastic can also be pumped into cast molds.
